The Art of Afrofuturism: Contemporary Art of the African Diaspora

The Art of Afrofuturism explores the groundbreaking artwork of dozens of artists from multiple continents and across the African Diaspora who are contributing to a new vision of the future and their place in it. Whether from the continent of Africa, the Caribbean, North or South America, the artists featured each exemplify a fresh perspective on contemporary art that challenges the status quo. From illustration to collage and employing a wide array of subject matter from the mystical to the metaphorical, these artists create visions that are bold and unflinching and secure their places in a new narrative that is both far-reaching and inclusive.
