The author began writing for fun and diversion over seventy years ago. This book contains verse, rhyme, and narratives on a number of topics. Writing about love, patriotism, family, religion, and other subjects has brought variety to this book. Very seldom did the author pick out a subject just to be writing. There was generally an event, person, or circumstance that prompted putting pen to paper. In addition to the poetry, there are the watermelon and air rifle stories. The moral of the stories may be overlooked, but generally, there is a moral to them.

There is a short story called "Hitler's Heir." This is a fictional story about Hitler dope-raping his intern and providing a legacy for his heir with gems he had stolen from Jews he murdered. The reader's imagination will complete that story. "Diagnosis" is a true account of the author's experience with a benign brain tumor.

Two poems of the author were put to music by a composer the author met by chance. If the reader needs to read Guest's "It Couldn't Be Done" to get the enthusiasm to do a task, then read "Tenacity" in this book, which may give you the edge that is required, not only to do that task but to read this book.
