Program of Priestly Formation (PPF), sixth edition, was developed by the USCCB Committee on Clergy, Consecrated Life, and Vocations and promulgated on June 24, 2022, the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Released in accordance with Ratio Fundamentalis Institutiones Sacerdotalis, issued by the Vatican in 2019, the PPF serves as a guide for seminaries in developing programs to form men for the ministerial priesthood. This important document sets forth the nature and mission of the ministerial priesthood and establishes norms for the admission and formation of candidates, as well as norms for the governance and administration of seminaries.
