Postcards from and to America

Postcards is a book from an intensely lived life, and one lived in generosity, contemplation, and with deep friendship. Hogg writes to friends, companions, family, colleagues, including fellow writers. Yet the "postcards" (each poem is like such a missive) are to all of us, Everyman, Everywoman, every being (as the earth itself, and its plants and animals, are part of the life of Hogg as they should be for everyone). In fact, one might say that being is the optimal word to describe what these poems are about. Being in its deep sense, of wonder and connection to the universe.
