This a true story of the early beginnings of Ponte Vedra Beach as we now know it, and the beginnings of the Atlantic Coastal Highway Association which, with the opening in 1934, was the start of major development for the Beach area. It also includes some early recollections of the times and people who lived in the area in the late 20's and early 30's. The sources for the information contained herein are the Jacksonville Beach News, The Official Atlantic Coastal Highway Magazine, Volume No.1 Number 2, April 1931, The Encyclopedia Britannica 1945 Edition, my Mother and my personal collection of articles and pictures.
