MOUTH is a lyric essay in small parts: a plastic treasure chest full of all your lost baby teeth; a necklace with a shark tooth dangling; an elephant with a molar ground down to the jaw. These vignettes thread (or, more accurately, layer) narratives held upon the soft meat of the tongue, asking how the machine of language naturalizes the animal body as utilitarian or aesthetic. Breathe, eat, drink, bite, cleave, speak, smile, suck.
